Brief

In May 2014, Cedrec approached durhamlane to increase their sales performance.  Cedric asked durhamlane to find a sustainable pro-active solution to help change their business approach from reactive to pro-active with sales opportunities. Cedrec have significant experience in recruiting and training technical and legal staff. However, recruiting and developing a sales team wasn’t something Cedrec felt confident in undertaking. Cedric wanted durhamlane to find and recruit ambitious sales professionals, who could be developed, trained and successfully embedded into the business.

Solution

In June 2014 durhamlane placed a recent business graduate – Courtney as their New Business Executive. Courtney was selected from durhamlane’s vast candidate network built through developed relationships with the region’s Universities. As part of our programme, Courtney undertook an extensive 12 month Sales Graduate programme, enabling her to not only spot new business opportunities, but to create a sustainable pipeline of sales opportunity for Cedrec.

Following the success of the Courtney’s placement, in June 2015 Cedrec approached durhamlane again looking for another sales professional. durhamlane recruited and placed Natalie with Cedrec. Natalie matched all of the criteria Cedrec were looking for.  In addition she had the right personality fit and ambitious nature to help Cedrec grow.

Although already an experienced sales professional, both Cedrec and Natalie recognised how durhamlane’s sales graduate training programme would provide a firm grounding and best practice advice which in turn will deliver the most likely chance of rapid success. Natalie is enjoying the programme and continues to be supported by durhamlane.

Business Impact

Cedrec’s sales have gone from strength to strength with both Courtney and Natalie excelling in their roles, delivering more than Cedrec ever thought possible at this early stage. Subscription sales are on the increase and clients are being retained and re-signed.
