Lee is a passionate and performance driven entrepreneur who enjoys nothing more than spotting, exploring and brokering the next big opportunities. Having co-founded durhamlane, with over 20 years commercial sales and marketing experience, Lee is an expert in delivering solutions to ambitious organisations and their investors throughout the UK and worldwide. He has been the driving force behind high growth programmes for businesses of all sizes from SME’s to Blue Chip clients, primarily in the technology, software and manufacturing and engineering sectors. Lee is passionate about our goal ‘to raise the bar of the sales profession’ and make it a profession to be proud of, as it is in the US, after all, we all sell in some shape or form – without sales you don’t have a business, a fact that is all-too-often neglected.

Jake Spence

Chief Operations Officer

Jake joined durhamlane in 2013 after gaining experience in project management, sales and business development in consumer financial services and insurance market. Due to his exceptional people management and commercial skills, Jake has played a key role in building durhamlane to the business it is today. He leads and develops our team of Business Development Managers, using durhamlane’s unique methodology to ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue for both our clients and our business.

Will Tombs

Chief Financial Officer

Will Tombs qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in their Newcastle upon Tyne office in 2000. Post qualification William worked in industry for ten years, first as Financial Controller at Hammerite Paints, a subsidiary of ICI plc, and then as Finance Director of a bathroom pod manufacturer. Will then set up his own company providing outsourced tailored financial management solutions using cloud technologies to become one of the largest Xero accounting partners in the North East. In his role at durhamlane, he provides key financial advisory services as the company continues its scale up journey.

Carol Duncumb

Non-Executive Director

Carol is an experienced Non Executive Director and Business Mentor, with a proven track record of developing owner managed businesses in consumer technology . With over 30 years experience of growing, managing and selling businesses with notable successes, Carol has strong interpersonal ability, negotiation, Business Planning and development, Building Sales and Marketing Strategy skills. At durhamlane, Carol acts as a key mentor and advisor to the board and leadership team.

Martin Moran

Martin Moran brings more than 25 years of experience in managing and growing technology businesses in Europe and globally, with a proven track record for building high-performance sales organisations. He has been working in SaaS for over 15 years and is now an active angel investor in technology. At durhamlane, Martin advises the leadership team on international sales strategy and tech stack optimisation, as the business goes from strength to strength. At (a durhamlane customer), Martin is responsible for leading the company’s international business. He will play a key role in helping to accelerate sales for Europe’s leading companies, just as he has made a significant impact in the region with his previous work.

Dan Roberts

Dan is one of durhamlane’s longest serving employees who has helped the business scale from a team of 5 to 50+, as it is today. During his time at durhamlane Dan has established himself as a true champion of durhamlane’s ‘Selling at a Higher Level’ methodology. He has worked with businesses across a multitude of industries, from local SMEs to global enterprises. Today, Dan plays a key role in leading durhamlane, responsible for quality assurance and customer success, specialising in sales enablement and behavioural coaching. Dan is a true believer in people and self improvement. He works tirelessly to ensure his peers have the confidence, tools, techniques and self belief to perform to their fullest potential – to both create qualified sales opportunities for durhamlane’s clients and build remarkable client relationships. Key client experience includes; HPE, Aviva, PwC,, TSG and many more.

Sean Ball

Director of Marketing

Sean is a commercially-focused marketing leader, with a passion for reconciling the art and science of marketing and sales. As Director of Marketing, he leads durhamlane’s marketing team and client-facing marketing services.

With a background in corporate communications and digital marketing, Sean has almost a decade’s experience of strategising and executing impactful campaigns for some of the world’s best known brands, start-ups and SME’s.

Phil Mulvain

Director of Recruitment

Phil heads up the recruitment arm of durhamlane, that was set up connect the best sales graduate talent with ambitious businesses. From the demand of our clients, his team is also dedicated to attracting and matching the best-fit experienced sales professionals – from front line Account Executive, Customer Success Manager, Presales Engineer to Enterprise Sales Director. Our entire sales recruitment model is built around our ‘Talent at a Higher Level‘ methodology’. As a sales performance company, we benefit from a vast network of sales contacts and world-class organisations, that enables us to build and develop high performing sales teams. Phil helps the likes of Sage, Mendix, FreeAgent and many others attract and recruit the best sales talent; from graduates to experienced hires. Anthony Usher

Anthony is a self-confessed geek. When he started as a Sales Executive with durhamlane in 2014, his passion for everything IT related was quickly unveiled. Besides being a phenomenal sales professional, Anthony also plays a key role in collating and analysing durhamlane data, to unlock insights and better ways of working. Anthony’s main role at durhamlane however is regional sales manager for the south, with a passion for all thing cyber-security, technology and software.
